    • Back pOrchEstra

The Back pOrchEstra show features Tim Eschliman (Etta James, Commander Cody & His Western Airmen, New Copasetics) vocals & resonator guitar, Candy Girard (Delaney Bramlet, Tanya Tucker, Clint Black, Jerry Garcia) on violin, Gary Potterton (NRPS, Texas Chainsaw) on guitar, Lou A. Rodriguez (Gator Beat) on drums and Jen Rund (Mangobus, The Real Sarahs) on bass.

This band has gone thru some transformations and lately it's developing a sound. If you haven't seen us lately or even not ever.. maybe it's time to come get festive with us! ....songs from all over the map... Roots Rock, Americana, Country Blues, Western Swing, Cajun, and New Orleans music... originals and reworked classics by Hank Williams, Taj Mahal, Dan Hicks, Big Bill Broonzy, Bob Wills, Jimmy Reed, Joseph & Cleome Falcon and Bobby Charles.

Latest single: "Calling All Ancestors" https://orcd.co/4yxrna4 ...a fall harvest of musical influences, a "Day of the Dead" message with a distinct Levon Helm groove.
... Also our first full-length music video is out, of the recent "Dusty Road I'm On" single: https://youtu.be/jj0IIkUyrE4 ...a twangy roots rock number with a Cajun flavor and hints of Jesse Ed Davis and Sid Page....

Our "Voices In My Head (Genre Whiplash)" made the Top 100 Albums of 2022 at Alt.Country Specialty Char. (The Official Site for Alt Country).

"It's one fine album" - Ben Fong-Torres (Rolling Stone, Almost Famous)

"...so well crafted as Mr. Eschliman has assembled a wonderful cast of Bay Area musicians to achieve this down home sound... a very timely reminder of how rich the musical community of the San Francisco Bay Area is.
With Voices in My Head (Genre Whiplash) Tim Eschliman certainly demonstrates a mastery of many musical genres that provides a roadmap of classic Americana music with this fine new record" - J C Flyer

"Don’t buy this excellent album if you’re not open to a program that has roots in country and blues but zigzags all over the musical map. This largely acoustic string band—which formed on the West Coast during the pandemic—evokes artists from multiple decades over the last century and embraces everything from indie-rock and Americana to Celtic, Motown, and Western swing. If you need a reference point, look to bands like Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks and Asleep at the Wheel, whose records also draw on disparate sources." - Jeff Burger, Americana Highways (also at The Aquarian.com, Blogcritics.org)

Roots Rock, Singer-Songwriter, American Roots, Rock-Pop, Rural Blues, Cajun, New Orleans, & Kitchen Sink Music... on resonator guitar, violin & drums. Certainly a few things you may have never heard before. Trying out some new songs, a few historic songs, some new arrangements, different musician combinations...
